Windows 7 - How to Share Local Disk using Remote Desktop Connection on Windows 7

Remote Desktop Connection is a useful feature in Windows that allows you to log on and view the desktop of another computer via your internet connection from your own computer. This article will explain how to use your local drives during a Remote Desktop session for file sharing purposes.

1. To open Remote Desktop Connection, click Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > Remote Desktop Connection

2. In computer field, insert your IP Address/domain for your remote machine and click Options.

3. Click Local Resources tab and choose More under "Local devices and resources" section.

4. Choose the drives you want to share with the remote machine. For example, in my case, i will share my C Drive with the remote machine. After that, click OK and Connect button to start remote the machine.

5. Here is the result. Now, you can share, copy or transfer file between your local PC and the remote machine. Go to your remote machine and locate the My Computer folder. You will find your drive here.
