The DOS mode is still available in Windows 8. There are a few options to show and use the command (cmd) prompt.
1. From the Desktop Mode
Move the mouse cursor to the exact lower left corner until the desktop shortcuts menu appears and then right click.
2. From the Metro UI
Go to Windows 8 Metro UI by hit Windows key and then type Cmd. Windows will automatically search the Command Prompt for you.
3. From the Run Command Line
Follow the steps to show the “run” command line as described in my previous post. Type “cmd” to access the DOS environment.
Note: This tutorial was written on Windows 8 Release Preview.
